The choir have had some very good hard working rehearsals since January under the direction of our new Conductor, Marysia Gorska-Saj which culminated in a really successful concert on 12th July 2025.The whole evening was well received with Marysia taking part by accompanying some pieces on the guitar or violin. In contrast to the songs Cleeve were singing our guest Conrad Van Wyk played classical pieces on the piano and violin. Conrad, who is just sixteen and attends Pate’s Grammar School at Cheltenham, has a brilliant musical future. The choir’s rendition of songs Sloop John B, The Water is Wide, What a Wonderful World and California Dreamin’ met with approval being so different from previous concert programmes.Read about the Concert in Downendvoice August Issue, Christine Broadway’s column.Cleeve are keen to recruit more singers and are therefore offering two free taster sessions to experience the expertise of our amazing conductor Marysia. She is a breath of fresh air.Do come along, give us a try, we don’t bite. Nothing lost, nothing gained.Patricia
